The 3Com Office Connect Wireless ADSL 108 Mbps 11g Firewall Router is equipped with a new advanced chipset featuring new baseband architecture that – an eXtended Range technology that enables long-range connections. With many obstructed wireless operating range, this router still can reach up to 100 m (328 ft) maximum; but with line of sight signal you can reach up to 350 m (1,148 ft) maximum.

This architecture can deliver receive sensitivities of up to -105dBm, over 20dB better than the standard 802.11 specification. This technology provides coverage in home networking environments with a single network access point, eliminating the dead spots in business or corporate WLANs, and provides unobstructed coverage of up to two times the distance of competing WLAN solutions. The router is Wi-Fi CERTIFIED and also supports the Wireless Distribution System (WDS) feature. WDS simplifies setup of an extended or completely wireless network (requires access points that support WDS). With this wireless environment, you can use it to make unlimited free Skype calls with your Wifi phone such as Belkin Skype phone or similar type Netgear Wifi phone.

  1. For a secure connection to the wireless environment, you need to connect to the wireless network using wireless industrial standard WPA/WPA2 encryption. This 3Com wireless ADSL router supports 128-bit WPA/WPA2 with TKIP/AES encryption for maximum security, along with 40/64 and 128-bit Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) encryption for legacy clients.

Remote connection
