With your standard internet plan either cable or DSL, building a wireless network with high performance wireless routers would not be optimal. Select affordable wireless N300 routers for simple home networking to share the internet, share the files, printer and gaming. If you have high speed internet plan, you should select high performance router for maximum data rate throughput to support your multimedia network.

There are lots of wireless N300 routers you can purchase to create a simple home networking but appropriate performance to support your standard networking tasks including sharing the internet, files, printer and gaming. Two affordable N300 wireless routers by Airlink are Ar675 and Ar695 you may consider for the center of your home network.

Both Airlink wireless routers are powered by the same N300 wireless technology fast speed up to 300Mbps in a single 2.4GHz band. For standard networking tasks, this wireless speed is fast enough for streaming video and gaming. Both routers support wireless on/off button so you can disable the wireless broadcast if you don’t use it to save the power. Ar695 Airlink allows you to schedule the on/off wireless broadcast, it’s good for management reason when you should power off the wireless signal automatically.

For standard wireless networking in home, you can connect the router to the any types of modem only device such as Surfboard cable modem. For extending the wireless signal if you find any dead spots at the farthest corner of your house, you may install any types of wireless range extender of wifi booster to extend the wireless coverage such as Amped SR300 high power wireless range extender with four Ethernet ports.

Later if you need to configure the router, you can use the web-base router utility by typing the IP address of the router with the following defaults:

• Ip address: 192.168.2.1 subnet mask 255.255.255.0
• User name and password: admin

Alternative Solution

Should you require the functionality of USB port, you may consider the Asus RT-N16 which includes two USB ports. You can attach both storage and printer for shared across the network to support your working and playing environment. RT-N16 is a N300 router with gigabit ports and two USB ports you may consider instead of Ar695 with no USB ports.
