CM232 Netgear Cable Modem
CM232 Pre-DOCSIS 3.0 Netgear Cable Modem enables service providers to offer unprecedented speeds up to three times that of conventional DOCSIS 2.0 technology.
Broadband connections (xDSL and Cable Modem) offer a new form of service connection using the Internet. These new age services offer high speed (relative to an analogue modem) bandwidth connections to the Internet via an Internet Service Provider (ISP). If you would like to build a secure wireless environment using the wireless router and share your cable Internet connection with the computers to the household, you need a suitable and reliable cable modem.
The Pre-DOCSIS 3.0 CM232 Netgear Cable Modem enables service providers to offer unprecedented speeds on an HFC network. The cost-effective CM232 Netgear cable modem bonds three downstream channels together to deliver data rates of 100 Mbps or up to three times that of conventional DOCSIS 2.0 technology. The CM232 Netgear cable modem also provides hybrid mode. This feature allows the service provider to deploy the CM232 Netgear cable modem in a network that uses EuroDOCSIS 8 MHz downstream channel. The CM232 is fully compliant with DOCSIS 2.0 and is backwards compatible with DOCSIS 1.1 and 1.0. NETGEAR has conducted extensive interoperability testing of the CM232 against industry leading channel bonding cable modem termination systems. The CM232 Netgear cable modem is future proof with support for IPv6. With the CM232, MSO’s now have a cost effective competitive weapon to combat the ADSL2+, VDSL and Fiber deployments from the telcos. The CM232 is fully compliant with DOCSIS 2.0 for remote management and provisioning.
The CM232 is backward compatible to existing DOCSIS 1.1 and 1.0 networks The CM232 offers both a USB 2.0 and Gigabit Ethernet port for users to take advantage of the very high-speed WAN connection. For the IP TV application, an optional two-port Ethernet model is also available.

With the Gigabit port this modem support, CM232 Netgear cable modem is suitable to supply a broadband Internet services to the WNR854T NETGEAR RangeMax Next Wireless-N Gigabit Router, which also supports Gigabit WAN port. Connect the Giga port to the routers WAN port to allow the Internet shared to the authorized computers wirelessly or “wired” connection to the desktop. With the pre-DOCSIS 3.0 support, you can experience the lag-free video downloading from video catalog. Or you can also connect this port direct to the computer if you don’t want to build a wireless environment at home. This modem also support one USB port you can connect direct to the desktop to browse the Internet directly too.
