- Router with built-in ADSL modem
- Includes four Ethernet ports
- Built-in firewall (NAT and SPI)
- Downstream: Up to 24Mbps; Upstream: Up to 3.5Mbps
With this single device in home, minimum you can share your DSL internet connectivity with up to four computers in home. You can run UTP network cable from the computers direct to the modem-router dSL-2540B.
Is that easy and no more complicated configuration? With DSL-2540B you need one phone call to your ISP that will guide you through the configuration in connecting to the ISP. And you need to have your user-name and password with you during the configuration. When the configuration with your ISP is completed, you can connect the computers to the ADSL router easily by just running the network cable. That’s all?
Your DSL-2540B supports DHCP server which is enabled by default. The DHCP server will take care of providing the IP address configuration automatically to all your computer clients connected to the ADSL router. What you need to configure in each of the computer is the TCP/IP property of your NIC adapter to “obtain an IP address automatically”. See also: setting up computer network.
Now, what if you require having all your mobile devices including laptop with Wifi-enabled, the touchpad computers, and other smart phone with Wifi-enabled connected to the internet wirelessly? You can add a wireless access point such as DAP-1360 wireless AP and range extender or TP-Link WA901ND.
Check here guidelines in creating Wifi network with DAP-1360.
