2Wire Home Portal 2701HG-E DSL Modem router is powered by Hyper-G 802.11G wireless standards. It is Wi-Fi certified, assure compatible with other wireless industrial standard devices. All your computer clients that use USB wireless –G adapters will be compatible with this wireless network.

This DSL Modem router supports 4-port 10/100 Mbps LAN you can use for wired connection up to 4 computers with NIC adapter enabled. Or you can also connect one of the LAN port to the network printer to share. To connect to the ADSL broadband internet connection, this DSL modem router supports 1 port WAN. 2701HGV-E DSL Modem router supports 2 lines of VoIP, but 2701HG-E DSL Modem router doesn’t.
How do you connect it?
Connect the DSL port direct to the DSL line (the phone line) to the ISP. DSL line uses the local Telco line the same line used by the telephone. 2701HG-E DSL Modem router include 4-port (RJ-45) wired connection you can connect direct to the computer using the UTP cable.
2701HGV-E version of this DSL modem router supports 2 VoIP lines you can connect direct to the VoIP phone. With the wireless environment in home, if you have Wi-Fi phone, you can make Skype phone calls to all over the world with your Skype account anywhere within the house.
To protect your home network from the internet attacks, this 2701HGV-E DSL modem router supports the firewall feature. And for the wireless connection, 2701HGV supports 64-bit and 128-bit Wired Equivalent Privacy (WEP) encryption. To provide the IP address configuration to the client computers on the network, this DSL modem router includes the DHCP server. if you know nothing about the DHCP services, just leave the default setting which is enabled by manufacturer.
