The way a traditional wireless repeater work is receiving the signal and rebroadcast the signal using the same radio frequency band and antenna. But HOW2R1 Wireless Outdoor Repeater is designed in different way. The signal source is received by the high-gain directional antenna in one radio frequency band and the signal is rebroadcasted using Omni-directional antenna with another radio frequency.
The wireless repeaters are configured to have the same channel, SSID and the security encryption with the existing wireless network and are used to extend the signal to reach longer distances and provide better signal strength for clients in the network coverage eliminating the dead zones. You need to position the repeater that still receive the signal from the source and place it in area that needs to cover.
Traditional repeaters are engineered to include Omni-directional 2dBi antennas to receive and rebroadcast the signal source in all direction. Hawking HOW2R1 is an outdoor type wireless repeater which is designed with hi-gain wireless dual radio smart repeater delivering the high speeds up to 300Mbps. Like the indoor version of Hawking Smart repeater (HW2R1), the HOW2R1 Wireless Outdoor Smart Repeater is designed with two powerful signal radios. The resource signal (from either the wireless router or wireless access point) is received dedicatedly by the 11dBi directional antenna which is integrated into the repeater in one radio, and the other radio is used to rebroadcast the signal in an Omni-directional 5dBi antenna. This powerful repeater signal can help you eliminate the dead spots within your area.

Therefore the HOW2R1 supports the NAT (network address translation) to help protect the private network against any network threats. Moreover, it also includes the Denial of services (DoS) attack.
Supports Access Control

The Utility uses a proprietary communication protocol to connect to the Smart Repeater without having to know the correct IP settings.
