First Generation of Linksys E-Series and Some Comparison

Overview

Even though the new generation of Linksys E-series has been around for a while, people are still looking for the first generation of Linksys E series and make some comparison with other wireless routers in their class including Netgear or Apple Airport.

1G Linksys E series

There are four models of first generation Linksys E-series including:

  1. Linksys E3000 – concurrent dual band
  2. Linksys E2000 – selectable dual band
  3. Linksys E2000L – the Linux version
  4. Linksys E1000 – single band

All of the routers are engineered by the latest wireless 802.11n technology with the speeds of up to 300Mbps in each band.

Linksys E-Series are equipped with the Cisco Connect Software with three simple steps to setup the routers to quickly create a wireless network from simple to advanced settings with no hassle. With Cisco Connect software you can customize the settings to quickly add multiple Internet devices to your network:

2G Linksys E-series

By April / May 2011 Linksys introduced new lines of New E Series including:

And latest ones are Linksys 4200 N750 simultaneous dual band with the speed of up to 450Mbps in 5GHz band and up to 300Mbps in 2.4GHz band to give you total bandwidth of up to 750Mbps ideally. And the maximum performance one shipped in the end of 2011 is the Linksys 4200V2 – the N900 version with total bandwidth up to 900Mbps like other N900 routers.
