Small businesses today demand constant, uninterruptable internet connection to support their businesses. Relying internet connection to a single provider cannot guarantee you that it will provide zero downtime services. The best solution is to subscribe to two different service providers in the case that one provider fails to function; you still get connected to the other service provider. The problem is that you require a system that can support two internet connections which can provide a failover to the backup connection when the primary connection is failure. MBR900 Cradlepoint router is an ideal solution to provide a constant internet connection with failover feature.
In home when you share broadband wired (cable or DSL) internet connection you need a home wireless router such as new Linksys E3200 wireless router or new Belkin N600 DB router. Both routers are high performance routers for streaming HD video and gaming with large network coverage. But you cannot use these types of home router to share your wireless internet services (3g/4g or cellular network). MBR900 Cradlepoint router can be used to share either wired or wireless internet services, it’s like two types of wireless routers in one box.
Includes One WAN port
The MBR900 Cradlepoint router supports one 10/100Mbps WAN Ethernet port to let you connect to either DSL or Cable modem in home and even if you have T1 line services, you can connect it as well. As an addition, the router includes USB port to let you connect any types of wireless USB cellular modem which is compatible up to 10o or even more EVDO, HSPA and WiMAX cellular devices available in the market today.

Failover / Failback Router
The MBR900 Cradlepoint router is an ideal solution for small businesses that demand un-interruptible internet services to support their business to keep productive. The router supports failover / failback feature to let you have two different internet services. You can configure the Ethernet port to connect to the broadband Internet connection as the primary services and the USB port connect to the cellular network with USB cellular modem. When the primary internet connection fails to function, the system will failover to the backup connection automatically. And when the service is restored, the system failback to its original connection. This way, you keep connected to the internet services and the business keep online with the world.
The MBR900 Cradlepoint router supports the VPN pass-through for IPSec, L2TP and PPTP protocols. If you have VPN server, the router can pass the protocols to let the VPN connection take in place.
Any standards security features like other popular home wireless routers or other small business router can support, the MBR900 supports them as well including the latest wireless security encryption WPA/WPA2 (personal or enterprise) – the stronger security encryption compared with the WEP (wired equivalent privacy). You can also control the access right including the Encryption, open modes and password protected.
Network Address Translation (NAT) and SPI (Stateful Packet Inspection) as the standard security features for all the routers are included. NAT feature is a way to hide your orivate network from the public network / internet. The SPI helps inspect the internet traffic more thoroughly for any false positive packets.
The connection diagram for MBR900 wireless mobile router is nearly the same as traditional home wireless routers except that you have two different types of internet connection, broadband wired and wireless internet. The figure shows common diagram.
You can compare the MBR900 with the MBR1000 cellular router. Both routers unlimited wireless connection when you connect to Ethernet WAN, but the router can connect up to 30 wireless devices when uses USB wireless internet. MBR1000 can cover up to 750 ft but MBR900 can only cover up to 600 ft.
MBR1200 Cradlepoint router is different. The router supports 5 ports for cellular network connections including 3 USB, 1 Express card and one PC Card. You have all the options of cellular modem devices to connect. The MBR1200 can also support one 10/100/1000Mbps Ethernet port for wired broadband modem connection. And the good thing is that it include another one LAN Ethernet port which can be configured for redundant WAN connection.
For small branch offices or SOHOs, MBR900 CradlePoint router is an ideal solution for affordable constant internet connectivity. For more 3G/4G modem options, you can consider MBR1200 Cradlepoint router.
