MEBR3500 – a Single Router for Wired WAN Access and 3g Network for Backup – Sorry this product has been disappeared in Netgear.Com website, but the device is still available in Netgear.Com.SG
When you sign up for a broadband internet connection, a common task to do is sharing this single internet connection with two or more computers within the household. In order to share the broadband internet connection you need to build a network either wired or wireless network or even combination of both wired and wireless network. To build a wired / wireless network you need a wireless router as the heart of the network. To share the wired internet (cable or ADSL) you need a broadband wireless router. To share the wireless internet you need a cellular / mobile wireless router. But with MEBR3500, you can use this single device for sharing either wired or wireless internet.
Standard wireless broadband router is designed for cable / ADSL internet services which is typically used in homes. When you require sharing broadband internet in outdoor situations, you need to use the mobile wireless router which connects to the 3g/4g cellular network using cellular modems (HSPA & EV-DO USB Modem). MEBR3500 wireless mobile router is designed to combine the capability of sharing the wired and wireless internet services by creating the wireless network.
Unlike DIR-450/451 D Link which is specifically designed for mobile internet, the MEBR3500 can work for both connections.
