New generation of Belkin N150 router with multi-beam technology covering longer distance and delivering the speed up to 150Mbps.
Originally Belkin introduced Belkin N150 wireless router (F6D4230-4) which was powered by the draft 802.11n standards. Like other wireless N150 routers, this router is suitable for sharing the internet in home and other simple networking tasks including sharing the printer, documents and internet browsing.
In the middle of the year 2011 Belkin introduces new generation of wide range of routers including Belkin N150, Belkin N300, Belkin n450, Belkin N600 DB and Belkin n750 DB. The last two Belkin routers are the simultaneous dual band version of the routers which support both 2.4GHz and 5GHz bands. With the increment of 150Mbps, the first three routers deliver the speeds of up to 150Mbps for N150, 300Mbps for N300 and up to 450Mbps for N450 router.
On the other hand, new generation of Linksys E series doesn’t produce wireless N150 router. The simplest new generation of Linksys E series wireless router is E1200 N300 which delivers the speeds up to 300Mbps but the price in the market is as much twice as the Belkin N150 router.
What’s New with Belkin N150?
New generation of Belkin N150 is powered by wireless 802.11n standards with Multi-beam antenna technology for more powerful signal strength and better wireless coverage. The maximum speed this router can deliver is 150Mbps – suitable for standard networking tasks in home.
Installation is easy and simple and connecting the clients to the network is simple by pressing the WPS button for any clients that support WPS feature to connect securely using the preset WPA/WPA2 wireless security encryption.
The Belkin N150 router includes four 10/100Mbps Ethernet ports for LAN connection and one 10/100Mbps WAN port to be connected to either cable or DSL modem. What about sharing the storage or printer? Don’t expect the router can do the task. This router doesn’t support the USB port that can be used to host a storage or printer. If you require sharing the storage or printer you can consider the Belkin N600 DB which includes one USB port, or you can also consider Belkin N750 DB which includes two USB port. But the last two routers are high performance routers, meaning you need to spend more money three times as much as the Belkin N150 router.
Any standard features a wireless router must have are included in this router such as dual firewall feature (NAT & SPI) for network protection and to allow you share the internet with many computers. DHCP server is also included to help you manage the IP addresses for all the computers on the network.

Whats the range on this router… i have just purchased one of these routers… setup was non exsistant almost i foundit…. to be too easy… but now can’t get the wireless adpator on the other computer to pick it up… it is about 20metres to the other computer… there are a few doors walls etc… yea not good.
(N150 wireless Router)
Belkin doesn’t specify the range of this router, but typically less than 200ft ideally. With doors and walls, those could be the apparent obstacles to get a strong signal reception. Try to relocate the router in line of sight if possible, or if the walls exist make the signal perpendicular with the walls.
