Highlights:
- Wireless N media bridge delivers high speed up to 450Mbps each band
- Includes four Gigabit Ethernet ports – connects up to four media devices
- Advanced security with WPS support
- Eco-friendly technology
The first concurrent dual band 450Mbps wireless router TEW-692GR has been shipped into the market, the first wireless router with N900 technology – doubling your bandwidth up to 900Mbps. With this dual band 450Mbps, Trendnet need to offer you the wireless media bridge which support the maximum data rate throughput up to 450Mbps each band – the TEW-680MB while other wireless manufacturers are still stuck with their N300 or N600 adapters to support their N600 and higher routers. Netgear also ships the WNDR4500 N900 router into the market; however Netgear doesn’t release the high speed adapter to support this N900 router up to this writing. To obtain maximum data rate throughput, both ends of the router and the client should use the same wireless speed technology.
There are still few wireless clients that support wireless speed up to 450Mbps for maximum throughput when connecting to any wireless N750 or N900 routers. To support your home theater devices for maximum throughput with your high performance wireless N450, or N750 or N900 network you may consider the Trendnet TEW-680MB wireless N450 dual band Media Bridge.
What this Product Does
It’s simple, just connect up to four Ethernet-based devices to the bridge and get them connected to the wireless network (to the internet) with high speed connectivity. Powered by the latest wireless N450 technology delivering speed up to 450Mbps each band theoretically, you can connect up to four devices with 10/100/1000 Mbps speed to the Gigabit Ethernet ports.
The previous version (TEW-687GA) wireless gaming adapter, it includes only one Gigabit Ethernet port. But this wireless Media Bridge allows you connect up to four devices with gigabit connectivity too. With the WPS supports, you can easily connect the devices to the network by just pressing the button for secure connection.
Networking diagram
Like normally what a wireless bridge does, you may connect up to four devices such as Blu-Ray player, XBOX, HDTV and more to the TEW-680MB and get them connected to the network wirelessly. The figure shows you wireless connection diagram that uses TEW-680MB and the TEW-692GR as the center of the wireless network in home.
The good thing with dual band is that you can use the 5GHz band clean network for high speed and high performance streaming high definition video and fast responsive online gaming instead of 2.4GHz band which is prone to interference.
