TEW-687GA 450Mbps Wireless N Gaming Adapter is the fastest wireless gaming adapter introduced by Trendnet with wireless 802.11 n N450 technology in delivering high speeds of up to 450Mbps (theoretically). The adapter is powered by the smart antenna MIMO (Multiple Input Multiple Output) technology for high speed and longer distance coverage. You can connect any types of gaming consoles with Ethernet ready, DVRs, Blu-Ray players, HDTV etc to your existing wireless network.
TEW-687GA is designed to support the optimum data throughput when connect to the existing high speed Trendnet TEW-691 N450 wireless router or TEW-690AP N450 access point. Both devices are powered by the N450 wireless 802.11n technology for high speed router and access point. It is also compliant with any wireless 802.11b/g based network.
To provide a constant and high performance wireless connection, this wireless n gaming adapter supports the Wi-Fi Multimedia (WMM) Quality of Service (QoS) for gaming traffic prioritization. This is to assure high performance smooth gaming experience when connect to the wireless network.

TEW-687GA includes one Gigabit Auto-MDIX LAN Ethernet port for high performance wired connection to the gaming consoles or any Ethernet enabled devices. With Auto-MDIX LAN, you can use either Cross or Straight through UTP cable, the system will detect the cable type and change the signal appropriately. With Gigabit Ethernet port, this device is ready for any gaming consoles or other Ethernet ready devices with gigabit support.
Like the older version TEW-647GA, this wireless n gaming adapter supports the latest wireless security encryption WPA/WPA2-PSK as well as the WEP (for connecting to the legacy clients). For wireless connection, you can easily setup and connect the device using the Wi-Fi Protected Setup (WPS) by pressing a button for easy and simple setup.
The following figure shows networking diagram using TEW-687GA to allow the XBOX console or the HDTV connects to the TEW691 N450 wireless router. Should you have some Ethernet ready devices including the Blu-Ray player, HDTV, XBOX console and so on and you would like them to connect to the internet, you may consider the TEW-640MB media bridge. TEW-640MB is a wireless N 300Mbps bridge with 4-port 10/100Mbps Ethernet (not the Gigabit port).
