Linksys by Cisco WET610N Wireless-N Ethernet Bridge with Dual-Band
Wireless Ethernet Bridge turns any of wired Ethernet-enabled devices to wireless. If the wired “LAN” is the medium or large scale local area network in the organization, the wireless bridge will extend the LAN wirelessly to the Wi-Fi based computers or any wireless devices.
IP Address Setting
The WET610N Linksys wireless bridge needs an IP address, whether static IP address or IP address from DHCP server from your wired system infrastructure. But if you manage a large number of bridges in your large scale organization, static IP should be your choice that will allow you manage centrally through a network management system.
If you want to set a permanent static IP address for this Linksys wireless bridge, then select Static IP. If you select Static IP, then complete the following fields:
- Static IP Address, enter a unique IP address that will be used to access the web-based utility.
- Subnet Mask, enter the subnet mask of your wired network.
- Default Gateway, enter the IP address of the default gateway for your network (in most cases, this is your router).

Wireless-N devices are very powerful with the speed and range coverage much better than standard wireless-G devices particularly with the smart MIMO technology. Even though 802.11n is still not finalized yet, mostly all draft 802.11n devices are compatible with all 802.11 Wi-Fi devices. If you have XBOX game console at home, you need to select a wireless router that is designed for the gamers in mind such as DGL4500 from D-Link which is powered by GameFuel technology. You can go LIVE wirelessly in the comfort of your living room with your High-Definition smooth motion TV.
