In wide area of industrial environment where standard wifi range cannot cover the large area, you need to boost the signal by means of Wifi booster or high gain or high power wireless range extender. Normally a standard wireless router can cover as long as 300 ft (around 100 meters) away in ideal condition. Many dead zone areas would prevent the wireless clients connect to your network. What this product does
The SR600EX Amped is a high power wireless smart repeater with 600mW amplifier, powerful signal booster to cover as long as 1,5 miles away or around 2,2 km away. Unlike standard wireless repeater with 2dBi antenna gain, the SR600EX includes high gain antenna with 9dBi gain. This is ideal to deploy the repeater in industrial area to cover large industrial environment. Suppose the main office must cover long distance workstations in check point office where running network cable is not an easy way to do, deploying the SR600EX would be much beneficial eliminating the wires.
The good thing is the SR600EX includes two Ethernet ports to let you connect two computers using network cable direct to the repeater while the wireless clients connect wirelessly to the repeater, adding two wired connections in additions to wireless connectivity. Or you can add another SR600EX device or even a switch for more wired connectivity.
The SR600EX high power wireless repeater is designed with bi-directional antennas to maximize the signal in two directions for more wireless range and performance.
Setup and Networking Diagram
Setting up the repeater is easy in three setup wizard:
- Connect the computer to the PoE adapter of the repeater
- From the internet browser, type in the setup address (default ip address 192.168.1.240) or you can type in http://setup.ampedwireless.com
- Scan the network and select the one you need to repeat
As general, the networking diagram of this SR600EX high power wireless repeater can be shown in the following figure. In this diagram, the Buffalo high power router Wzr-H-Ag300h connects to the modem and the SR600EX repeats the signal to long distance workstations and wireless clients.
