Wireless router with printer server is beneficial for home wireless network, you don’t need to buy separate print server to share printer.
Being able to share a single printer with many users across the network is very beneficial. No more waiting in a queue to print documents. With networking printer users submit the print jobs and the print-server system will manage the queues in appropriate order automatically. This can only be performed if you have a computer network in place.
Traditional printer share
There are many ways of sharing a printer to be accessible by all users across the network. Traditionally you attach a printer to a computer and configure it to allow all users access the printer across the network.
When there are heaps of print jobs in the computer memory buffer, the performance of the computer degrades significantly and frequently causes the computer to freeze inaccessible. This is the disadvantage of sharing the printer via the computer.
Router’s USB port
The best way in sharing the printer is by installing the print-server device. But the best way in sharing the printer is by utilizing the USB port of your home router. Unfortunately not all the wireless routers support the USB port, and not all the wireless routers with USB port can be used to host a printer. So, choose the wireless router with printer server.
Various models routers with printer server
Many users are eventually regret having bought a wireless router with a USB port could not be used to share a printer over the network but can only share storage.
For example some Netgear routers from the past generation are equipped with USB port only to share disk storage and beginning with Wndr3800 can be used to share a printer in addition to storage.
You can also purchase separate wireless print server in order to share your printer across the network. You can place the print server in a convenience place to let people access it easily.
