TRENDnet TEW-MP2U is a Wireless USB Printer – a multifunction 2 Port USB Print Server which provides a fast 54Mbps 802.11g Wireless standard, compliant with USB 2.0 high speed printing, Supports USB storage devices.
With this TEW-MP2U Wireless USB Printer, you can transform virtually any standalone multi-function USB printer into a shared resource on the wireless network either at home or at the business office. Setting-up is easy with an intuitive utility application and a user-friendly configuration interface. For the management purposes, this 2 Port USB Print Server is embedded with LED indicators, bidirectional support and e-mail notifications in case system error messages or adding / removing the USB devices.
Connect one multi-function printer, fax, scanner, into one port and another port connects to the USB storage device (can be external USB hard drives, USB flash drives, or memory card readers) to allow users on the network share the devices wirelessly. Wireless USB Printer is compliant with USB 2.0 high speed printing, and is also compliant with 802.11b and 802.11g devices.
The TEW-MP2U Wireless USB Printer supports the DHCP client; you can register the MAC address of this 2-Port USB Print Server in the DHCP server reserve address to allow a permanent network IP address for the printer / storage device. It also supports the SNMP, Universal Plug and Play, and also FTP server. Available two USB 2.0 ports and one RJ-45 10/100 Mbps auto-negotiation fast Ethernet port, this 2-Port USB Print Server supports 64-bit / 128-bit WEP and WPA-PSK encryption and compliant with Windows 2000/XP/2003 Server/Vista (32-Bit) operation systems.
Wireless USB Printer is Wi-Fi certified, it can work with other industrial wireless network such as Belkin Wireless Router, or D-Link wireless router. But if your wireless network consists of TRENDnet wireless network such as TRENDnet Wireless Gigabit router, or TRENDnet wireless -300N access point, it would be better to have one single vendor products for support and maintenance.
Trendnet TEW-MP2U is a two-port USB print server to let your clients print wirelessly to the attahced printers. But wireless routers with print server is ideal solution for home to reduce devices clutter.
