WNR3500 V2 Netgear RangeMax Premium is powered by the latest wireless technology 802.11N standard and is backward compatible with 802.11b/g devices. This is the replacement router of WNR854T Netgear Rangemax wireless router which is now marked as End of Life product. The WNR3500 V2 Netgear is embedded with 4 gigabit LAN Ethernet ports and one gigabit WAN port.
The WNR3500 V2 Netgear RangeMax Premium supports Automatic Quality of Service (QoS) for reliable Internet and smooth voice and gaming applications. Advanced Security
The router supports dual-firewall feature (NAT & SPI). NAT (Network address translation) effectively blocks unsolicited requests and other probes from the Internet, meaning that it thwarts intruders searching for unprotected file shares and private Web or FTP servers. SPI (stateful packet inspection) examines the incoming packets from the Internet more carefully than usual.
Besides dual-firewall protection, the WNR3500 V2 Netgear includes DoS (Denial-of-service) attack protection and IDS (Intrusion detection and prevention) system for better protection against any types Internet threats. Free Live parental control is also included with flexible and customizable filter settings to keep your Internet experience safe by blocking inappropriate Internet content.
For wireless connection security, WNR3500 V2 supports the latest industrial wireless security Wi-Fi Protected Access (WPA2-PSK, WPA-PSK) and WEP (for connection to legacy clients). Clients connection is simple and easy with the Push ‘N’ Connect using Wi-Fi Protected Setup™ (WPS) and Smart Wizard®.
And the good thing with this router is that it includes Broadband Usage Meter that allows you measure Internet traffic volume and provides customized usage alerts. However, the bad things with this router are that no USB port available (for storage or printer share purposes) and no dual-band support (clearer signal for gaming and streaming video).

By default you can connect to the wireless router by typing http: //www.routerlogin.net or the router’s LAN IP address (the default is 192.168.1.1) in the address field of your browser, and then press Enter to open the login prompt. Type the user-name and the password. The default user-name is admin and the default password is password. See also wireless router password.

Connect the WAN port of your router using UTP network cable to the modem (either Docsis 3.0 cable modem or DSL modem).
