ZyXEL WAP3205 Wireless Ethernet Bridge is powered by the latest wireless –n the ratified version of the 802.11n wireless standards. It delivers the speeds of up to 300Mbps (ideal conditions) suitable for your high-intensive bandwidth applications such as HD video streaming or gaming. WAP3205 helps to extend your wireless network coverage even with most popular wireless APs. And the good thing is that the WAP2305 can be configured as the wireless client and with the built-in Universal Repeater Mode can simultaneously perform as the wireless access point to provide wireless connectivity to all other wireless devices such as Wi-Fi laptops or your Wi-Fi phones.

Advanced Security

Unlike other wireless access points in its class, ZyXEL WAP3205 Wireless Ethernet Bridge supports multiple SSID for different access privileges. You can create your private SSID for higher security policy such as having the right of accessing your share storage. While at the same time, you can also create guest SSID for guest users with limited internet access only. With multiple SSID support, you can create different groups of users to access different networks through different SSIDs. Thus increase the flexibility and efficiency of the network infrastructure.

ZyXEL WAP3205 Wireless Ethernet Bridge allows you configure in 5 different modes including the wireless AP, Wireless Client, Wireless Bridge, WDS Repeater, and Universal Repeater. For example with wireless access point mode, you can connect the WAP3205 to the wired router to allow you extend your network wirelessly. The following figure shows you how WAP2305 is configured as the wireless AP with two different SSID: Private and Guest. While the other WAP2305 is configured as the universal wireless client to allow a desktop (with NIC adapter enabled) in separate area of your home connect wirelessly to the network, while at the same time the WAP2305 can also function as the wireless AP (with the built-in Universal Repeater feature) to allow wireless devices in the area to gain access to the wireless network.

To configure the device, connect the WAP3205 Ethernet port to the computer NIC adapter using the UTP cable. The default IP address of the WAP3205 is 192.168.1.2. Configure your computer with the static IP address in the range of 192.168.1.3 and 192.168.1.254. Open your computer web browser and connect to the router by typing the default IP address: http://192.168.1.2 and the logon screen will appear asking the logon password. Type the default password: 1234 to access the web configuration menu. You can explore the menu and do the configuration as necessary.
